Introduction and Statement of S.R.T. Med-Staff’s Commitment

The Ontario government passed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) in 2005 with the purpose of developing, implementing and enforcing mandatory accessibility standards that apply to all areas of daily life. It is the goal of the government of Ontario to make Ontario accessible by 2025. S.R.T. Med-Staff is committed to complying with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and all of the standards under it in order to meet the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities. We believe in diversity, integration and equal opportunity.

The Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (2008) established public and private sector customer service standards for those who provide goods and services to the public. In 2010, S.R.T. Med-Staff introduced a Customer Service Policy to comply with the act. The information and communications, employment and transportation standards have been combined under one regulation called the Integrated Accessibility Standards (IASR). IASR is now law and being passed in between 2011 and 2021.

The regulations associated with the Integrated Accessibility Standards (“IASR”) under the AODA require that effective January 1, 2014, S.R.T. Med-Staff establishes, implements, maintains and documents a multi-year accessibility plan which outlines the organization’s strategy to prevent and remove barriers for persons with disabilities and to meet its requirements under the Act (AODA).

In accordance with the requirements set out in the IASR, S.R.T. Med-Staff will:

  • Post this plan on its website;
  • Provide this plan in an accessible format, upon request;
  • Review and update this plan at least once every five years
